The Porch is a dedicated peer-listening space for adults. We do not provide therapy, counseling, medical, legal, dating, or crisis services.
Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026 • The Porch Peer Listening Sanctuary
NOTICE: This working framework outlines The Porch's core operating principles and is pending final formal legal counsel approval.
1. Sanctuary Nature & Peer Listening Scope
The Porch provides private, one-on-one peer listening conversations. The Porch is strictly NOT an emergency hotline, crisis center, suicide prevention lifeline, healthcare provider, or mental health counseling service. Porch Sitters are compassionate human listeners and do not provide psychological, psychiatric, medical, legal, or professional advisory services.
2. Community Boundaries & User Conduct
Visitors and Sitters must uphold a safe, respectful environment. We strictly prohibit: sharing personal contact details (phone numbers, addresses, personal social handles); moving conversations off-platform; sexual solicitation or sexually explicit communications; harassment, hate speech, threats, and abuse. If a visitor engages in harassment, threats, sexually explicit behavior, abusive language, or other serious violations of our community standards, the Porch Sitter may end the conversation immediately. Payments and Porch Credit used for a session that has already started and is terminated for a serious Community Standards violation are generally forfeited and not automatically refunded or restored, except where required by applicable law or authorized administrative review. Any additional unused Porch Credit on the visitor's account remains recorded but is frozen while the visitor's account is suspended or permanently banned. Visitors may contact Customer Care to appeal a decision or address legally required refunds.
3. Sessions, Timers & Multi-Client Disclosure
Sessions are timed according to server timestamps. When scheduled session time expires, a complimentary 3-minute wrap-up window is provided, after which the session automatically closes. Visitors acknowledge that Porch Sitters may converse with up to three visitors concurrently, and responses are paced naturally.
4. Payments, Introductory Offers & Cancellation
The introductory 5-minute complimentary seat is limited to one per eligible visitor account. Paid sessions are billed prior to activation. Because Porch Sitters reserve dedicated time on the porch, completed sessions are non-refundable. If a visitor voluntarily ends a paid session before the purchased time expires, any unused minutes are forfeited and no partial or prorated refund will be issued. Any additional unused Porch Credit remains recorded on the visitor's account but is frozen while the account is suspended or permanently banned. Visitors may still contact Customer Care to appeal a decision or address legally required refunds. This does not affect any rights or remedies required by applicable law.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties & Contact
The Porch is provided 'as is' without warranty of any kind. For questions regarding these terms or community standards, please contact support@theporchlistening.com.
