The Porchlight — A Helping Hand for Brighter Tomorrows. Official sunset porch cover.

THE PORCH / PORCHLIGHT

A little light can change everything.

Sometimes, a little help can make room for hope. Porchlight is The Porch’s financial-kindness initiative: a place to ask for practical support with dignity, or offer kindness to someone going through a difficult chapter. Your identity stays private in public stories.

A helping hand. A little hope.

Porchlight is coming soon. Light Seekers will be able to request practical support, and Light Givers will be able to help approved, anonymous requests. Applications and donations are not open yet. Payment arrangements are subject to provider approval.

Your story belongs to you. Applications and public sharing will always require your choice and consent. No applications or donations are being accepted yet.

How a little light can begin

Built around dignity, choice, and compassion.

Share your story

When applications open, you’ll be able to describe your situation privately and choose whether to proceed.

Thoughtful review

Applications will be reviewed through a separate verification process. A referral from a sitter will never guarantee approval.

Choose what is shared

Only an approved, consented version of your story may appear publicly, with your identity protected by default.

Be a Light Giver

When giving opens, Light Givers will be able to choose approved anonymous requests. Giving and receiving records will remain private, with no public donor lists, gift amounts or thank-you notes. No contributions are being accepted at this time.

No approved public requests are listed yet. Every request is reviewed privately first.

A little clarity before you begin.

Who is Porchlight for?

Adults seeking a helping hand are Light Seekers. People who want to support an approved request are Light Givers. Everyone deserves kindness and respect.

What happens after I apply?

Your application stays private during review. You and a person who can vouch for your situation must provide identification. The review team may ask for more information through My Porchlight. Approval does not guarantee funding.

What is public?

Only an approved anonymous request that you explicitly agree to share. Giving and receiving records, donor identities, gift amounts, received totals, identification documents and thank-you notes are not public.

How often can I apply?

You may submit one request per account every six calendar months. Answering a review question continues that same request; it does not create a new one.

Does Porchlight charge a fee?

When contributions open, Porchlight will deduct a disclosed 5% platform fee from each gift to help keep the platform running. Applicable payment-processing fees are separate. No payments are being accepted in this preview.

Can I contact a Light Seeker or Light Giver?

There is no direct messaging between Light Seekers and Light Givers. Please do not post identifying details, payment-account details or ID documents publicly. Short thank-you notes stay private.
